PictureCard Communication was conceived in 2001. Thinking that
there must be a better way to help visual learners, I came up with the idea of creating visual (picture)
communication tools and materials that, I believe, would have helped my son Eric who was diagnosed at the
age of 5-1/2 with low-functioning autism.
Picture Card Communication products are now also being used to help my mother who has Parkinson`s and Alzheimer`s and are helping families with loved ones in nursing homes.
Our Goal
The goal of PictureCard Communication is to provide resources to help parents,
teachers, special needs workers and therapists break through the communication barrier with children
who are non-verbal, or perhaps even your mother or father, brother or sister.
Having "been there", I know that parents raising children who are autistic,
or who have other special needs, usually do not have the time — or the energy — to
spend creating personalized visual systems for their children.
This is where PictureCard Communication can help. We have several "stock"
items which can be personalized, if desired. We can also work with you to develop unique PictureCard
Communication Systems which meet your individual needs.
